Exhibition Background

Colombia, the only country in South America bordering both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, has become an important engine of the regional economy with its vast land of 1.14 million square kilometers and a huge market of 52 million people. Its automobile consumer market continues to prosper. By 2025, the number of cars owned will reach 6.45 million, the number of motorcycles owned will exceed 9.4 million, and the after-sales market demand is strong.

Colombia has three core automobile manufacturers – Sofasa (producing Renault and Toyota), Colmotores (Chevrolet) and C.C.A. (Mazda), but local production capacity only meets 36.34% of domestic demand, and more than 60% of auto parts rely on imports. South Korea, Mexico and China are the top three import sources, among which the proportion of Chinese auto parts has increased year by year due to their cost-effectiveness and technical advantages.

Colombia is not only the fourth largest economy in South America, but also radiates its market influence to neighboring countries such as Brazil and Mexico through trade agreements such as the Andean Community and the South American Common Market, covering more than 200 million people.

 

About Expopartes

Founded in 1997, Expopartes is the oldest and largest auto parts exhibition in Colombia, and one of the most internationally influential industry events in Latin America. The exhibition is hosted by the Colombian Auto Parts Association (Asopartes) and is held every two years at the Corferias International Exhibition Center in Bogota. The 28th exhibition will be held in 2025.

The exhibition focuses on the latest technologies and products in the automotive parts industry, providing exhibitors and visitors with cutting-edge information and display opportunities. The exhibits cover various types of auto parts, electronic equipment, chassis, metal components, heavy vehicle parts and accessories, auto lamps and auto beauty products, etc., fully displaying the latest achievements of the auto parts industry.

The exhibition attracted auto and parts manufacturers from all over the world, including exhibitors from 15 countries including China, Brazil, the United States, Mexico, etc., promoting international exchanges and cooperation.

 

As the only auto parts exhibition in South America certified by the International Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), Expopartes attracts top global brands to participate. In 2023, there will be 450 exhibitors (from 15 countries) and more than 27,000 professional visitors.

76% of exhibitors directly reach transactions through the exhibition, and 80% of the visitors are purchasing decision makers. It is known as the “barometer of the South American auto parts industry.”
